UEN Homeroom Podcast - “Music In The Utah Classroom”

Daily Resource / January 31st, 2022

What I really love in podcasting is when you get a group of people with disparate backgrounds and they, without planning, synchronize their comments. In this episode, Dani and I included Kodey Hughes, a superintendent of a rural Utah district; Marianne Johanson, a principal of a magnet arts elementary; and Katherine Hejazi-Far, an elementary music teacher. Throughout the two interviews we did with this group, their comments just blended together so amazingly well despite their diverse backgrounds, work experiences, and current roles. Their passion for the arts and how the arts can change perspectives and goals about school, learning, and life were so incredible. Talking to our producer, Fernando, it was extremely difficult to find a way to cut any materials from the conversations, thus making this the longest episode in the podcast’s history. Give it a listen above.
